WHAT IS THE PDL
The Premier Development League (PDL) is an amateur-level league that focuses on providing developmental training and match play opportunities for college-level players and players with professional soccer aspirations. The PDL’s #Path2Pro mission is vertically aligned with Major League Soccer (MLS) and the United Soccer League (USL), the highest levels of professional soccer in the United States.
The PDL consists of 14 regular season matches. FC Boulder has been placed in the Mountain Division of the Western Conferences. Home matches in our inaugural season will feature all of our divisional opponents: Albuquerque Sol (NM), BYU Cougars (UT), Colorado Rapids U23s, and FC Tucson (AZ).
Since 2007, 70% of all players drafted into Major League Soccer had PDL experience and in the 2016 MLS season, over 200 players rostered to MLS teams had played previously in the PDL. The 2017 PDL season will kickoff in early May and run through the end of July.
