Luis Swisher joined FC Boulder after spending the previous two years coaching in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy program at Cedar Stars Academy in New Jersey. Prior to then, Luis spent time coaching with the Development Academy programs at D.C. United and New York Red Bulls.
Luis played professional soccer for seven teams in the Guatemalan National League, voted rookie of the year during first professional season. His teams played in several Concacaf Champions Cup events (1999, 2002, 2007 and 2008). He was the first Guatemalan defender to play in Europe and first Central American to play in the Polish League (Polonia Warszawa 2005-2006). For his country, Luis earned 40 CAPS with Guatemala’s Youth National Teams (U-19, U-21, U-23) and 23 CAPS with the Guatemala Men’s National Team (GMNT) including having played in 9 World Cup Qualifiers.
In the classroom, Luis has earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration and Electronics and has his MBA in Business Administration. He has his USSF “A” License and NSCAA Master Coach Diploma. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
